Haystack Mystery Pool, August 2019
Cotton muslin, cotton canvas, unknown natural dye pigments, safety pin
A sample dyed in a standing pool of water on the coast of Dear Isle, Maine at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts. This “mystery pool” contained an unknown combination of natural dyestuff — a truly natural dye pot. The sample was mordanted and then submerged and left in the pool for two sunny days in August 2019.
