exercises in saying NO
is a body of work in progress exploring slowness and inefficiency as modes of resisting capitalist pressures and value systems, while working toward more sustainable socio-environmental and material relationships. (This is also weighing heavily on my mind.) The durational processes utilized in these investigations embody these sentiments as well—laborious and often resulting in ephemeral or unstable forms. I am currently activating early learning tools like crayons and flashcards, small-scale experimental green screens, found materials and fading text-based garments in a video piece that functions as a sequel to An Inadequate Anthology of Smudges
